54 hours of swimming without stopping, swimmer who survived cancer makes history

An American woman is the first to swim the English Channel four times without stopping.

Sarah Thomas, 37, launched the epic challenge in the early hours of Sunday and ended after more than 54 hours.

The marathon swimmer who completed her breast cancer treatment a year ago, dedicated her swim to “all cancer survivors”.

She said that she could not believe that she made it and that she would spend this day sleeping only because she was very tired.

The hardest part says Sarah was the salt water which dried her lip and mouth. But she added that “her team helped her quite well and kept her strong”.
