Chelsea pays for Conte's early dismissal
Antonio Conte’s dismissal a year before the contract expires has cost the club 26.6 million paunds, or around € 31.2 million euros at Chelsea.
These are the figures stated in the London club’s annual balance sheet and published in the English media today, and since Abramovich is in charge of the ‘blues’, Chelsea have paid more than 90 million pounds for early coach dismissals.
Antonio Conte moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2016 and won the championship title for the first season, but the second year was followed by a cooling off of his relationship with Russian tycoon Abramovich, which ended in June 2018.
The Italian technician sued Chelsea and won, while the case is currently being appealed by Londoners, who still have little chance of overturning the court’s ruling.
