Former Barcelona vice president: Neymar left us down, then cried and said he was sorry
Former Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre believes Neymar should apologize if he wants to return to Barcelona and live a quiet life while regaining the heart of Catalan club fans. He has also confessed how the Brazilian had immediately repented when he left.
Brazilian Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain for 222m euros in 2017, ending a successful four-year stint at Camp Nou.
Unfortunately, Neymar’s career in France has been marred by disciplinary and injury problems, prompting much speculation about his future at the French club.
His desire to return to Barcelona last summer was no secret, but the Blaugrana failed to reach an agreement with the Paris international for the transfer of Neymar, who ultimately remained in Paris.
Neymar was initially whistled by PSG fans at the start of the 2019/20 season for his attempt to leave. In the September 14 match against Strasbourg, he had also faced offensive calls from his club’s fans.
Such a thing can await the Brazilian even if he returns to Barcelona, as many fans still hold grudges over how he left the club, Mestre believes he must do much to win the hearts of the fans again.
“Emotionally, because of the way he left, I wouldn’t transfer him back to the club. But on the sports side, yes, I would transfer it, ”Mestre said.
“If he came back, he would have to make a big gesture. He would have to withdraw legal action against the club, apologize and live an almost perfect life.
“Nobody knew he was going to leave because he didn’t tell anyone. He didn’t even tell one person. Then he quickly began to cry with remorse and told us he wanted to come back. “
