Guardiola: We will always be grateful to Silva
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has said that the English club will always be grateful to the Spanish midfielder David Silva. For whom he said that he had an extraordinary career at the Etihad.
Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of this season. And now he has only one match left to play in the Premier League and also the matches in the Champions League.
The 34-year-old is leaving a decade after joining “Citizens” after transferring from Valencia. After 433 appearances, 77 goals, four Premier League titles and countless brilliant moments. Silva’s departure is expected to be emotional.
He has spent the last four seasons under Guardiola. Having previously coached at the Etihad by Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini. Asked about Guardiola’s influence, he revealed how much he enjoyed the period as a player under his orders.
And now Guardiola has said that he will always be grateful to the midfielder. Asked to describe the Spaniard’s career, Guardiola said: “Extraordinary.”
“The number of games, the quality he has played with. The titles he has helped us win. He is one of the five or six players who have made this club what it is now.”
“And this club will be forever grateful to him.”
