Pioli: Ibrahimovic is important, but he is not the only one
Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, has admitted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played a key role in improving Milan during the second half of the season. But he stressed that there were other factors that have influenced the appearances of the red and blacks.
The Swedish striker, who turns 39 in October, scored two goals in Wednesday’s game against Sampdoria to help AC Milan win 4-1.
After the match, Ibrahimovic said that his age did not matter. And Pioli praised the veteran striker for the impact he has had at the San Siro since his transfer in January. Despite insisting that there were other factors that have influenced the achievements of the club.
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been very important for our development. But he has not been the only factor.” Pioli said in an interview after the match.
“The work we have done in recent months. The arrival of Simos Kjaer and a change of positions on the field. All of these have had an impact.”
“There are a number of things that have enabled us to perform as we have done and to have continuity in our form.”
