Pioli: Juventus, an ideal opponent for Milan
Milan coach Stefano Pioli insists his arrival is not a priority. Facing Juventus in the Italian Cup semi-final is the best possible test for his team after losing in the derby against Inter.
Milan will host Juventus at the San Siro on Thursday in their first semi-final match. The returning match will take place on March 4 in Turin.
“The Italian Cup is important for all the prestigious clubs, because they all want to do well in this tournament.” Pioli told Rai Sport and Milan TV.
“Getting to the semifinals is not enough. We want to get to the end. We need to be focused and supportive and make a better technical performance than against Inter. “Pioli said of facing Juventus.
Speaking about the loss to Inter, Pioli added: “To lose the derby in this way hurts, but we have an important match against Juventus right away which can help us forget it.”
“We have the quality to cause Juventus problems and facing them is the best thing we could have asked for after the derby,” he added.
