Pochettino: Real Madrid is my dream
Former Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about his future and the rumors that accompanied him in this transitional period.
Pochettino spoke about the truths and rumors. But also about some of his comments from the past.
“They did not offer me to run Barca. But I did not see myself with Bartomeu either.” he told for Marca.
“I met Ramon Planes (director of Barcelona) because I have been friends with him for many years, since 2009 when I signed for Espanyol.”
Pochettino has said in the past that he would never run Barca as they were rivals of his former club, Espanyol: “It was ironic. It was my first press conference for Tottenham and they asked me about the rumors about Barcelona. So I answered with irony and I think I exaggerated. I said what I said.”
“It sounds good to the radical Espanyol fans. But I do not want to talk about them. I do not have to justify any of my statements. Because no one can question my love for Espanyol.”
The 48-year-old also spoke about the words in the media that connected him with other clubs: “Neither PSG, Juventus nor Inter have made offers. I got calls from Benfica and Monaco. I do not need to lie.”
“I do not know if I will ever lead Real Madrid, but it is my dream. If it is not the biggest club in the world, it is one of the best. I am no different, everyone has dreams.”
