Sarri: There is always pressure when you are at Juventus
Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri says if he could not cope with the pressure at his job, then he would have been a postman not a coach.
The Bianconeri have lost their last two games. This has prompted Italian media to report a possible dismissal of Maurizio Sarri. He has been rumored to be replaced by coach Pep Guardiola this summer or to return Massimiliano Allegri.
But for Sarri, these problems are normal as he says the pressure is always present when working as a coach at Juventus.
“If I had not wanted to face challenges, then I would have been a postman. This is my job, ”Sarri told a news conference ahead of the first round of the Italian Cup against Milan.
“We are well on our way to achieving the goals we set for ourselves at the start of the season. Of course we will reflect on the mistakes we have made in the matches that went wrong.
Italian media reported that Sarri met with club president Andrea Agnellin after the 2:1 defeat, but Sarri insisted that this was not because of the results.
“We had planned to meet for dinner after the match against Fiorentina. “But I was in Coverciano and the president was busy with something else, so dinner was postponed for that day.”
“We had a normal dinner as we planned.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in super form for the past two months, but Italian media have reported that he will be missing in the match against Milan. We do not want to risk him being injured before the Champions League match.
“We will see. I have spoken to him and he has told me that he is feeling well. We have to assess his condition, whether he needs a break, match after match, ” Sarri concluded.
