The spectacular 70-million failure, Piatek and Paqueta in the market
On January 2019, Piatek from Genoa and Paquetà from Flamengo landed at Milan. It was considered the Reds revolution of the transfer market. But on January 2020 the revolution has failed. Already little doubt, both Piatek and Paqueta, after 12 months as Reds and a huge 70 million euro investment in total, have returned to the market.
The Polish star arrived from Genoa to replace Higuain, who went to Chelsea. It started great: two goals in the Italian Cup against Napoli and 6 goals in the next eight games in Serie A. Then something went wrong. By the end of the season, he had scored just 3 goals in 11 games.
With the start of the season in full swing, Milan hoped for Piatek’s resurrection, but the Giampaolo strategy did not work as he only scored two 11-foot goals under former Sampdoria coach. It’s not even working with Pioli, who has scored an 11-meter and a goal in action. Very little for a “Bomber”. The Devil has decided to entrust the attack to Zlatan, and therefore Piatek is very close to leaving as part of a failed project.
