Valverde's farewell letter after Barca's dismissal
Ernesto Valverde has released a statement after being dismissed from the post of Barcelona’s coach, in which he thanked the president and the club’s board and congratulated the new coach, Quique Setien.
“My time as coach of Barcelona has come to an end. It’s been two and a half years intense from the beginning. During this time I have experienced moments of joy celebrating victories and trophies, but at the same time there have been difficult and difficult moments.”
“But most of all I want to share my experience with the fans and the passion shown to me during my time as a coach. I want to thank President Josep Maria Bartomeu and the Board of Directors for giving me the opportunity to lead the first team and giving me the confidence all this time. ”
“I want to thank all the people I have worked with at the club for the support and treatment they have given me. Of course I want to thank the players for all their efforts that have enabled us to win four trophies together. From this moment on, I wish them all the luck of the world, as well as the new coach Quique Setien.”- wrote among other things Valverde in a letter published on the club’s official website.
The Spaniard, who has won twice La Liga, once the King’s Cup and once the Spanish Super Cup, is the first coach to be dismissed from Barca since 2003 after Louis van Gaal.
