Pjanic transferred to the Catalans last summer, when Arthur Melo came in the opposite direction. But the Bosnian did not persuade at the Camp Nou and they reportedly offered to terminate his contract and allow him to move on a free transfer.

Mundo Deportivo reports that the Bianconeri coach has made Pjanic one of his priorities in the transfer market.

The 31-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international played 178 games for the Old Lady. Before moving to Spain and made 30 appearances for Blaugrana in the 2020-21 season.

His contract with Barca expires in June 2024. And the La Liga giants hope to remove the financial burden of his salary.

Roma were linked with the player but are said to have withdrawn from the race to bring the Bosnian back to Olimpico.
