Del Piero: Juventus never called me, Ronaldo is no longer who he was 5 years ago
Alessandro Del Piero has said that he had never received a call from Juventus for the position of director at his former club. He also believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should adapt to the circumstances. As he is no longer is the same player.
Del Piero spent almost his entire career as a footballer at Juventus. Becoming the best goal scorer in the history of the club. And the player with the most appearances for the whites.
Although it has been rumored in recent years, the possibility of him returning to the club as director has never been present.
“I have never accepted such an offer and I am happy with the work I am doing now. I do not want to have a role for the sake of what I have done in the past. It will remain forever and no one can ever change it.” said Del Piero.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, the club’s top scorer in recent years, has been rumored to be leaving this summer.
Del Piero believes the Portuguese should sit down with new coach Massimiliano Allegri and talk about his future.
“I think CR7 has entered a stage in his career where he can no longer do the things he did five years ago. He has to adapt to the potential he has now.” he said.
“He has to talk to Allegri and the club and decide if he wants to continue with them.”
