Jurgen Klopp apologizes to Real Madrid
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has apologized for calling Real Madrid’s second stadium, Alfredo di Stefano, a training center. Saying he did not intend to offend anyone.
The German coach, Klopp caused controversy last week with his comments about the “Alfredo di Stefano” stadium before the first meeting in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Which his Liverpool lost 3: 1 on that field.
But now, on the eve of the quarter-final return match at Anfield, he clarified himself by saying he did not want to offend anyone.
“People have made a big deal out of this. I did not want to offend anyone.” he said on Tuesday.
“If they think (Di Stefano) is the stadium they want to play in, then to me it’s perfectly fine.”
He added: “If anyone has been offended by me, I apologize. That was not my goal.”
