Lingard rejects the new contract at Manchester United
England striker Jesse Lingard has turned down an offer from Manchester United for a contract extension.
It is believed that Lingard is worried about the opportunities that will be offered to him to play this season. Especially now after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Jesse, who scored two goals in England’s win over Andorra in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday, has impressed on loan at West Ham last season.
The 28-year-old striker’s current deal with United expires at the end of this season.
He had offers to leave this summer, with West Ham in particular trying to bring him back to the club.
He has only played four minutes for United so far this season in the Premier League.
