Napoli are considering the return of Maurizio Sarri as the team's coach
Italian club Napoli are reportedly considering the return of coach Maurizio Sarri in the 2021-22 season.
Sarri spent three seasons at the club between 2015 and 2018. He was close to winning the Scudetto in 2017-18. Ending the Serie A season with 91 points.
He then transferred to Chelsea and Juventus. Where he won a Europa League with the English and a Serie A title with the Bianconeri.
The Old Lady fired him last summer after being eliminated from the 16th round of the Champions League by Lyon.
Sarri has reportedly had disagreements with Aurelio De Laurentiis. But the President is reportedly considering the coach returning to Napoli at the end of the season.
Gennaro Gattuso will not be fired before the end of the season. But he is unlikely to continue at Napoli in the 2021-22 season.
Napoli were eliminated from the Europa League by Granada last night and are in fifth place in the Serie A table.
Sarri’s €6 million-a-year contract with Juventus runs until June 2022. However, the Old Lady could end the deal at the end of the season. Paying €2.5 million.
According to Sportitalia, De Laurentiis had already offered him a job in January, but the coach rejected the proposal.
