Pirlo happy to have won his first trophy as coach
Andrea Pirlo is very happy to have won his first trophy as a coach. After Juventus’ 2-0 victory in the Italian Super Cup final against Napoli on Wednesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo broke the ice by luckily scoring from a rebound from the corner. Before Lorenzo Insigne missed the penalty.
When Napoli were attacking with all their might to equalize the score in the last moments, Alvaro Morata scored to double Juve’s lead in a counterattack.
After the game, Pirlo – who took over the reins at the start of the season – said that winning the trophy as a coach makes you feel better than you do as a player.
“I am just happy. Raising the first trophy as a coach is different. I think better than as a player. Because I am leading a great team in a historic club. It’s a wonderful thing.” he said.
“We wanted to prove that we are not the team we saw against Inter, so when you plays with grit, dedication and attitude, you brings luck to yourself.” he added.
