The Argentine tennis player, Juan Martin del Potro, shocked Roger Federer by eliminating him from the grand slam for this year, the US Open.
De Potro triumphed in four sets, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, to go to the semifinal where he will meet Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
Nadal in the quarterfinals won the Russian teen Andrey Rublev.
Del Porto’s win means Federer and Nadal will finish another year without meeting at the US Open, the only grand slam where they have never met before.
